I am Adilia, owner and decorator for Colina Cake Creations. My desire to make cakes and decorate them started when I had my son in 1992. I wanted to make his cakes, and that's how I got involved in learning more about cake decorating. I attended Wilton Classes for cake decorating and seminars from Wilton products.  I became a Wilton Instructor for Hobby Lobby giving cake decorating classes few years past.  I always make sure I do a good job!  Yes, you may find me a "perfectionist", but it is worth the risk to do a good job not only by baking, but by decorating.  

I am my own boss, which is nice, and make my working hours according to the cake orders I have on my book.  I rather not have "rush" cake orders (3 days or less), but if I have time, it is hard to say No.  I care about my customers and that's why I have few to mention as "returned customers" each year.

My Mom and Dad were very supportive for my cakes.  They admired my "ART" in designing each cake, and decorating the way I do. Also, my son is very supportive and admires the time I take and dedication for my cake orders.  Dad always enjoyed watching me decorate my cakes, usually late at night of course... no time during the day. I have kept photos for each cake I have done in the past...  one, two or three times the same cake, but is my own creation I have documented.  Here on my website I have a few selection, but I do have more on my photo album.  I enjoy putting new cake photos, so you can see what type of work I do, what I like to do the most, and new cake ideas for you to choose from.

My goal is to satisfy my customers.  The most rewarding moment is when I do cakes to little ones, and they see my cakes and get so happy to see: Some to mentioned are Elmo, Blue's Clues, Winnie-The-Pooh, Superman, Batman, Cinderella, and other designs. My customers response is very important to me, so I know I am doing the right job. 

TECHNIQUES:

I use the start tip for texture technique, layout on edible photo paper for personal touch.  Programs I use are Photoshop, Printshop and Publisher for best quality.  I enjoy using basket weave technique for borders, my favorite tip!  Yes, it is time consuming, but I enjoy having this as a border for my cakes because it looks neat and presentable at your table.  It gives texture and it looks nice.  Other borders can be done as well.

At Colina Cake Creations I have introduced a "NEW" technique, which makes your cake more personal. This technique consists of a Photo Edible Paper.  Your favorite photo can make a very special cake!  I can do any design you like and any type of font or color you desire printed on your cake. If you want to have a special LOGO of your child's sports team, it can be done!  I like to have challenge and be creative!

If you have a work related event and would like to have a cake for your party a Logo from your company will be a great idea! It is a very good idea to advertize your company in a work related place.

Campbell's Unique design for MOM I did when she was sick.  A "Get Well Soon" birthday cake, on (Sept.2006).
